To our extended TSX family,

I’m writing to give you an update on our latest inspirational backpacking trek, the Hell For Sure Challenge and inform you of new dates, paces, and… pack horses… for 2018!

As a reminder, we launched the Hell For Sure Challenge last fall as a complement to our Trans-Sierra Xtreme Challenge and Grand Canyon Challenge experiences. The route loops through a remote section of the Sierra between Yosemite and Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Parks. It’s an unspoiled, and relatively unknown piece of wilderness that is close to the heart, and requires off-trail travel to fully experience.

Here is a 360 degree video we shot from a trip out there last fall.

The response to Hell For Sure has been incredible. We have had inbound inquiries from all ages and experience levels asking if we could extend the trip to something longer, soften its edges, or make it more aggressive. So this summer, our inaugural Hell For Sure Challenge season, we’ll be doing all three.

Please read below for updated trek dates and descriptions. If you have hiked with us in the Grand Canyon or across the Sierra to Mt. Whitney, you can definitely take on Hell For Sure, but you must be motivated!

2018 Hell For Sure Challenge Trek Dates

This is an extended trip that loops through Goddard Canyon, but has a more moderate pace. Horses are available as an option to carry packs uphill on day one!

5 night, 6 day Xtended route with Mt. Goddard (August 6-12)
This is an extended trip that loops through Goddard Canyon with the option to summit Mt. Goddard.

For each outing, we will meet in Shaver Lake, Ca and overnight at a cabin on the day of arrival.

Space is limited on each of these outings. Please contact us or register by May 1st if you have interest in joining a trek, or to secure your spot.

Thank you for your continued support!
